North Vancouver ยท Licensed group childcare
Lil Bloomers Childcare Centre is a warm, family-centred home for your child’s early years. We care for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-age children through play-based learning, consistent routines, and gentle, primary-caregiver relationships.
Caring teachers, consistent routines, and joyful play — every day.
Lil Bloomers Childcare Centre has been a trusted home for North Vancouver families for over a decade. We are a licensed group childcare offering Infant/Toddler care, a 3–5 Preschool program, and Before & After School care for children attending Carisbrooke Elementary.
Each child is recognized as a unique individual with their own wants, needs, and pace. We nurture development through caring, patience, and understanding — encouraging children to make choices, solve problems, and grow their independence with realistic, age-appropriate expectations.
Brighter, freshly renovated classrooms, a full-size indoor gym for active play in any weather, and a transitioning natural outdoor playground. We work as a primary care system so the same caring teachers meet your child’s daily needs — building trust through consistent routines.
Three age-specific programs, each with its own qualified educators, daily rhythm, and developmentally appropriate activities.
A small, settled room with a maximum ratio of 4 children to 1 qualified Teacher. The same primary caregivers meet your child’s feeding, diapering, and sleep needs each day, supporting secure attachment and a gentle gradual entry.
A play-based program with a maximum ratio of 8 children to 1 qualified Teacher. Children explore sensory and dramatic play, early literacy and numeracy, science and art, and join a weekly half-hour music class with Teacher Ryan.
Morning and afternoon care with a teacher-led walk to and from Carisbrooke Elementary (about 12 minutes, ratio 1 teacher to 12 children). Includes prepared afternoon snack, gym time, and outdoor free play.
All programs follow our screen-free philosophy, with at least 30–60 minutes of active play daily in our indoor gym or outdoors — weather permitting.
Real practices that families notice from the first tour — not just words.
The same teachers care for your child each day — meeting their feeding, toileting, and sleep needs — so trust and routine build naturally.
No iPads, TV, or electronic games as part of our daily program. Children explore through sensory play, dramatic play, blocks, art, books, and music.
Daily access to our full-size indoor gym and outdoor play — we follow the Canadian Physical Activity Guidelines and protect time for free, active movement.
We pace your child’s first week so trust comes first — from a short visit, to lunch, to nap, to a full day — together with families.
Photo-ID pick-up policy, regular head counts, and trained staff with first aid & CPR. Monthly fire drills and earthquake drills every six months.
A monthly newsletter, daily check-ins at drop-off, and open conversations so you always know how your child’s day went.
Activities are based on the children’s interests and abilities. Children are encouraged to participate, but never forced.
Water, sand, playdough and messy exploring; puppets, dress-up, and circle-time dramatic play to spark imagination.
Letters and numbers, puzzles, matching games, and lots of books, stories, and songs to build language and thinking.
Daily gym and outdoor time — climbing, running, jumping, riding — for strong gross-motor skills and joyful movement.
Magnifying-glass discoveries, gardening, simple experiments, and nature study woven into the day.
Calendar and weather with a special helper, songs, dance, story-telling, and a weekly music class with Teacher Ryan in the 3–5 program.
Drawing, beading, colouring, tracing, and cutting (age-appropriate) — and open-ended art that follows the child’s ideas.
Tip from our teachers: instead of asking “What did you do today?”, try “Who was the special helper?” or “What did you make in art?” — you’ll hear so much more.
We are more than educators โ we are a family of professionals dedicated to your child’s early years. Tap a team member to read their introduction when one is available.
Our team includes Infant/Toddler educators, ECEs, and ECEAs — all trained in childcare first aid & CPR, with ongoing training in emergency preparedness.
Moments from our classrooms, gym, and outdoor play โ updated as we grow. The same photos appear in the rotating album just under the welcome banner when you add at least one image here.
New photos will appear here when they are added to the gallery.
